What this is
Work-from-home vacancies that someone living in Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya or Indonesia can actually be hired into. The jobs are not in these countries — nearly all the employers are overseas. What they share is that each will employ or contract a person resident in one of the four.
Medium skill means open to someone with a secondary-school certificate, a diploma or a general degree: administration, personal assistance, customer service, sales support, bookkeeping, HR admin, translation, transcription, design. Specialist means a specific technical or professional discipline. Filter by either on any table.
The point is that it is checked. Job boards here mislabel office and hybrid roles as remote about a third of the time — one Kenyan board currently lists a cleaning job as work-from-home. Every role was opened at the employer's own site and two things proved before it made the list: that a resident of that country is eligible, and that the work is genuinely done from home. Both are quoted from the posting so you can judge them yourself. Eleven roles were dropped for existing only on a job board.
Evidence tiers
- Tier 1 — the posting names the country in a published hiring-country list. Strongest.
- Tier 2 — the posting states it hires worldwide with no restriction.
- Tier 3 — the posting's own location field is that country.
“Not published” means the employer did not state it. Nothing is guessed.
Three things that catch people out
- Payment, if you are in Nigeria. Nigerian PayPal accounts can send but not receive. Choose Payoneer, Airtm or bank transfer wherever offered.
- Hours. Many roles need a fixed US overlap — roughly 4pm to midnight from Nairobi or Kampala, overnight from Jakarta. Each table has a filter to hide them.
- Costs you carry. Some employers expect you to already own a laptop and a fast connection, and freelance work leaves you handling your own tax and insurance. None of it should ever mean paying the employer.
